DNH Police recovered 82 lost Mobile Phones worth ₹14.70 Lakhs through Month-Long CEIR Portal Drive and handed over to their
Rightful Owners.
In a major boost to citizen services, the Dadra & Nagar Haveli Police have successfully recovered 82 lost and stolen mobile phones valued at ₹14.70
lakhs through a special month-long drive using the CEIR Portal (Central
Equipment Identity Register).
The CEIR portal, launched by the Government of India’s Department
of Telecommunications (DoT), allows citizens to instantly report lost or stolen
mobile phones and helps police identify and track lost and stolen mobile phones using their IMEI numbers.
The mobile phones were recovered from DNH and other states by all Police Stations of the District through technical analysis, cyber-surveillance
and IMEI tracking using CEIR System. DNH Police handed over all the recovered lost and stolen mobile phones to their rightful owners.
The initiative reinforces the commitment of DNH Police to ensuring the ‘safety and security of citizens’ belongings and enhancing the efficiency of law enforcement through modern technology. Citizens are encouraged to immediately report any lost or stolen mobile phones via the CEIR Portal to prevent misuse and aid quick recovery.
The DNH Police will continue to strengthen such initiatives to enhance mobile security within the district.
