Laxmi Institute of Technology (LIT) witnessed a vibrant celebration of innovation and creativity as it hosted the much-awaited Idea Festival’25 on April 16th, 2025. The event served as a dynamic platform for students of Mechanical, Civil, Automobile, Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical, and Software Development branches to showcase their ideas that hold the potential to shape the future. The atmosphere on campus was electric with enthusiasm, as students from diverse disciplines came together to share, collaborate, and compete in the spirit of invention.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Limesh Parekh, Founder of Enjay IT Solutions, Bhilad. Also present were Dr. Basavraj Patil, Director of LIT, and Shree Amrat Patel, Principal of the Diploma section. Dignitaries from Laxmi Vidyapeeth Schools, respected members of the management, Heads of Departments, and a distinguished panel of judges added grace and value to the occasion through their encouraging presence and insightful interactions with the participants. The guest of honour and dignitaries appreciated the sincere efforts of the students. Mr. Parekh remarked that for engineering students, such events add real value to their learning and implementation.
This year’s Idea Festival was thoughtfully divided into two main categories. The first category focused on “Creative and Innovative Ideas,” allowing participants to present unique, out-of-the-box concepts that demonstrated original thinking and problem-solving. The second category emphasized “Ideas with Implementation Strategies and Working Models,” where participants presented functional prototypes and solutions with practical viability. This bifurcation ensured that both theoretical brilliance and hands-on ingenuity were duly recognized and rewarded.
More than 400 students from both Diploma and Degree programs enthusiastically took part in the festival. The first category, centered around abstract and conceptual innovations, saw a total of 38 projects submitted. The second category, emphasizing execution, witnessed 55 working projects, each backed by robust implementation strategies and real-world applications. The variety and depth of the ideas reflected a strong commitment among students to addressing contemporary challenges through innovation.
Adding further value to the event, students of 11th and 12th from Laxmi International School visited the festival. They interacted with the participants, explored the projects with curiosity, and gained insights into how ideas evolve into practical outcomes—leaving them inspired and motivated to think beyond the classroom.
The smooth execution of the event was supported by the dedicated coordination of Prof. Dhiraj Soni and Prof. Virendra Gajera, who ensured the event ran seamlessly across all stages of planning and presentation.
The projects were judged on various parameters including originality, impact, execution, creativity, teamwork, and communication. After careful evaluation, winners were announced in the following categories:
Best Idea was awarded to “Virtual Tour Campus” (BE CSE Sem 4), which presented how immersive virtual navigation can enhance campus experience for new students and visitors.
Best Implementation was won by “Air Stream Material Conveying System” (DE Mechanical Sem 6), which is a practical solution designed to transport materials efficiently using air pressure. Best Social Impact was conferred upon “D.E.T.O.X.” (BE CSE Sem 4), a project addressing the growing concern of digital addiction and mental health awareness through a tech-based intervention model. Best Use of Modern Technology went to “Online Earth Resistance Tester using Moisture Sensor” (BE Electrical Sem 4), which aims to digitally monitor soil resistance in real-time, offering improved accuracy for electrical safety systems. Best Creativity and Innovation was secured by “Smart EV Charging Station” (DE Electrical Sem 6), focusing on providing an efficient and accessible charging solution with smart controls and renewable energy integration. Best Teamwork was achieved by “Motorized Belt Mechanism, Grinding Cutter Machine” (BE Mechanical Sem 6), whose collaborative effort aimed to design a dual-purpose workshop machine combining mobility and utility for small-scale industries. Best Video Presentation will be determined from six shortlisted projects uploaded on the official social media page of Laxmi Institute of Technology. The winner will be selected based on maximum views and likes, and will be announced on April 25, 2025, during the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony.
The Idea Festival’25 concluded on a high note, having ignited a passion for creative thinking, practical exploration, and future-forward innovation. With active faculty guidance and continued support from the administration, Laxmi Institute of Technology—under the aegis of Gajera Charitable Trust (Surat)—continues to nurture talent and champion the spirit of meaningful transformation in society through such visionary platforms.
