RPF officer demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh, CBI arrests inspector and his associate

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Inspector of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) on charges of taking a bribe. RPF Inspector Mukesh Kumar Meena is accused of taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from the son of a person who was arrested in two cases from Akola district of Maharashtra. An officer gave this information.

Took bribe through accomplice

The official said that the CBI arrested the RPF inspector and his associate on Friday. The RPF inspector had taken a bribe through his colleague. The official said that according to the complainant, the accused officer had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from the named person for buying stolen goods and selling them in his shop.

The officer further informed that the matter was settled at Rs 3 lakh. Thereafter, when the matter was reported to the CBI, the CBI officer arrested the accused and the co-accused and registered a case against them.
